Fee Structure
There are a variety of ways in which HomeKNIGHT's services are provided:
Covers jobs ranging in time to complete from 1 hour to 1 day. Often quoted over the phone without needing to visit.
Where we need to visit, you will receive a quotation by email or post, on a date agreed at the visit.
Quotations indicate the number of work hours multiplied by time charge rates and also a lump sum materials cost.
One hour minimum charge applies after which time is charged on a 1/2 hour basis (except for specialist sub-contract services which may be charged as lump sum)
There is no call out fee, no mileage charge and quotations are free.
- Fixed Price Work Service.
This covers jobs which require more than 1 days labour.
Following our survey you will receive a quotation by email or post, on a date agreed at the visit.
Quotations provide a lump sum figure for labour and a lump sum for materials.
Variations are charged at our time charge rates (except for specialist sub-contract services which may be charged as lump sum).
There is no call out fee, no mileage charge and quotations are free.
- Portable Appliance Testing Service
Priced on a per test basis, subject to a minimum number of tests.
All quotations are provided by email.
Fuse replacements and minor plug repairs free of charge.
No mileage charge.
Quotations are based on all work being undertaken during normal working hours of 09:00 to 17:30 Monday to Friday. A premium applies to labour charges outside these hours. Parking fees, where incurred, are added at cost to invoices.
Materials
In addition to labour rates we make a charge for obtaining materials as the labour rates do not include for obtaining materials. We will agree all costs in advance where possible. Once we have received your order we will book an appointment time with you and obtain all materials in advance.
Warranty
We offer a 12 month warranty on all materials supplied to you.
Where electrical and plumbing work is notifiable to building control we offer an insurance backed 6 year workmanship warranty.
We also offer a workmanship warranty on our general services, which ranges from 0 to 12 months. In certain circumstances work is not warranted i.e. we cannot provide a warranty for cleaning gutters as these will refill with leaves etc. Work such as mastic sealing a bath is warranted for 3 months, unless we have installed the bath in which case the warranty is 12 months.
Insurance
Our insurance provides £2m Public Liability cover for all work undertaken on your property by us.
Payment Mechanisms
Payment is requested by cheque, bank / internet transfer or cash.
VAT
We are VAT registered. All quotations indicate a VAT inclusive price. VAT No. 878 2973 57
